Most surplus rifles come well used. This Yugo M59/66 SKS is still in cosmoline, the preservative grease that arsenals used for long storage, and it comes with its original import box. That tells you the rifle spent its time in storage and was not carried hard in the field.

The seller notes a good-condition rifle in 7.62x39mm with a 20-inch barrel and a 10-round capacity. The finish is black and wood, and it was made in Yugoslavia. The seller gives the box and the firearm as included. The seller also notes that the rifle has not been test-fired, and that, unless stated otherwise, it should be expected to fire and function safely.

Expect to spend an evening cleaning. Cosmoline needs to be removed from the bore, the action, and the wood, and that is part of the pleasure for many collectors. Use solvent and rags, and take your time with the gas system and the trigger group.

The Yugoslav variant is known for a sturdy build and a chrome-lined bore. After cleaning, check the function by hand, then take it to the range with standard ammunition. It is sold as described, in used condition. The rifle ships to your local FFL dealer, where the background check is completed.
