Mitchell's Mausers took surplus Yugoslav Mauser rifles and presented them as complete packages, and this M48A comes in that form. It is a bolt-action rifle in 8mm Mauser with a 24-inch barrel, a hooded front sight, and an adjustable rear ladder sight. The finish is military, and the stock is a full-length pistol-grip wood stock with a metal butt plate.

The seller says the stock, bolt, and floor plate are all matching numbers. The rifle ships with the factory box, a manual, and a certificate of authenticity. That is a full set of paperwork, and it helps if you plan to keep the rifle for the long term or resell it later.

The Mauser 98 action is strong, with controlled-round feed and a long claw extractor. It handles standard 8mm Mauser ammunition, and it can be accurate with good loads. The ladder sight is simple and easy to read.

Check the bore with a light and cycle the bolt. Look over the box and the papers to confirm the serial numbers match the rifle. It is sold as described, in used condition. The rifle ships to your local FFL dealer, where the background check is completed.
