Praise from the seller is short and clear: very nice condition, great in a collection. The Yugo M48 is a Mauser rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser with a 24-inch barrel. The finish is black with a wood stock, and it holds three rounds.

The M48 came out of Yugoslavia after the Second World War, built on the earlier Mauser pattern. Zastava made many of them at its factory, and they were issued to the army for years. The action uses controlled-round feed and a strong claw extractor, which is why this family of rifles still has a following.

If you collect military bolt actions, the M48 is a good rifle to add. It is plain and well made, and it displays the practical approach of Balkan arsenals. If you shoot, 8mm Mauser ammunition is made today at standard pressures, and many surplus lots are around.

When the rifle arrives, check the numbers on the bolt, receiver, and stock. See whether they match, since that affects value. Examine the bore with a bright light and test the safety and trigger. A little oil on the metal will keep it in good shape. It is sold as described, in used condition. The rifle ships to your FFL dealer for the background check.
