Some states set rules about stocks and features, and Springfield builds a version of the Loaded M1A to meet New York requirements. This one, model MA9226NT, is a new semi-automatic rifle in .308 Winchester with a 22-inch barrel, a 10+1 capacity, a fixed black stock, and a parkerized finish.

The Loaded line adds upgrades over the Standard model. Check the product details for the specific upgrades over the Standard model. The 22-inch barrel adds velocity, and the fixed stock meets state rules for rifles sold there.

If you live outside New York, you can still choose this rifle for its fixed stock and clean, traditional look. Hunters use the M1A for deer, and target shooters like it for its long sight radius. The weight, over nine pounds in many configurations, helps absorb recoil.

Because laws change, ask your dealer to confirm the rifle is legal for your location before you order. A licensed dealer handles the transfer and the paperwork. When it arrives, inspect the stock fit and the finish. Mount a scope if you plan to hunt, and verify your zero. The rifle ships to your FFL dealer, where the background check is completed.
