Built for one purpose, winning matches, the M1A National Match is the target rifle of the Springfield Armory line. It is a semi-automatic chambered in .308 Winchester, with a 22 inch barrel, a 10 round magazine, a brown stock finish, and a listed weight of 9.8 pounds.

The maker describes a purpose-built match rifle with a list of features aimed at accuracy. For the collector or shooter, the National Match name carries weight in service-rifle circles. The rifle follows the M14 pattern but is tuned for precision.

Competitors at Camp Perry style events and hunters who want a tuned rifle will both see its value. Plan to learn the rear sight clicks and keep a shooting log. It is current production of a military pattern.
