The Chinese Type 56 is the SKS most Americans know best. Norinco built it as a licensed copy of the Soviet Simonov carbine, a gas-operated semi-automatic in 7.62x39mm. This used example has a 20.5 inch barrel and a black finish with a wood stock.

Its design is a tilting bolt design that is loaded by stripper clips, with semi-auto fire only. The seller lists a capacity of 30 rounds, so confirm what magazine is fitted before you order. The simple design is easy to clean and field strip, one reason the pattern has stayed popular with hunters and plinkers.

Use a flashlight on the bore and look at the bolt face and gas system for carbon. Check that the stock is tight to the receiver and that the sights are straight. Priced under nine hundred dollars, it is a practical rifle for hogs, coyotes, and cheap range ammo.

Condition is exactly as described and pictured. The rifle is sold as described and ships only to a licensed FFL dealer you choose, where the background check is completed.
