MOSIN-NAGANT MODEL 91/30 CHAMBERED IN 7.62X54R

Clean bores are the first thing I look for in a surplus rifle, and this pre-owned Mosin-Nagant 91/30 has one. The seller describes a 28-inch barrel and a clean bore. The rifle is chambered in 7.62x54R, finished in black with a wood stock, and the weight is four-round capacity.

The 91/30 is the pattern most American buyers know. It was adopted in 1930 and built by the millions, and the rifle served from the Second World War into the Cold War. A bolt-action rifle with a long barrel, it hits hard and handles the climate well. The recoil is firm, so expect a push.

A clean bore means the rifling is in good shape and the rifle can produce decent groups. Check the crown at the muzzle for damage, and look at the front sight for signs of bends. Many Mosins shoot better than their price suggests, especially with consistent ammunition.

When it arrives, check the receiver markings and the bolt. Clean any grease or dust, and inspect the stock for cracks. Break in the rifle with a few rounds of known ammunition. It is sold as described, in used condition. The rifle ships to your FFL dealer for the background check.
