The seller calls this one a golden seal rifle and lists it as a Mitchell's Mausers Mitchel Mauser 48 in 8mm. It carries a 24 inch barrel and holds four rounds, with a black metal finish and a wood stock. The condition on file is used.

The Mauser 48 is the Yugoslav version of the classic 98 action, a design that has been copied and refined for over a century. That action is strong and the claw extractor is dependable, which is why so many sporting rifles started life as military Mausers. In 8mm Mauser, also known as 7.92x57, the rifle suits deer hunting at moderate range and target work.

Before you shoot it, run a cleaning patch through the bore and check the headspace, as you should with any military bolt rifle. Ammunition for 8mm Mauser is sold by several makers, but the bullet diameter is different from older 8mm loads, so pick the right ammunition.

The rifle is sold as described. It ships to your FFL dealer, and the background check is done there before you take it home.
