Mitchell's Mausers rebuilt Yugoslav M48 rifles and sold them as finished shooters, and this pre-owned 48A is a good example. It is a bolt-action rifle in 8mm with a 24-inch barrel and a four-round magazine. The finish is black with a wood stock, and it comes with a Mitchell's scope.

Getting a scope in the package saves you the cost of an optic. A scope on a Mauser changes how the rifle works in the field. It shoots further and with more precision than iron sights allow, and it makes deer hunting easier. Check the mount, the rings, and the zero before you rely on it.

The 48A is a refurbished version of the Yugoslav rifle, finished with a clean, even look. The Mauser 98 action is strong and accurate. With a quality load, this rifle can group well, and 8mm Mauser ammunition is available in many types.

When it arrives, look at the bore and bolt, and check the stock for cracks. Make sure the scope seats firmly and shows a clear sight picture. A couple of test groups at the range will tell you what to expect. It is sold as described, in used condition. The rifle ships to your local FFL dealer, where the background check is completed.
