Czechoslovakia's Brno arsenal built the vz. 24 in the mid-1920s, and it became a favorite export rifle. Romania, Yugoslavia, and China were among its buyers. After Germany took over Czechoslovakia in 1939, production continued for German forces as the G24(t) until the arsenal changed over to the Karabiner 98k in 1942.
This example is chambered in 8mm Mauser and has a 24-inch barrel. The seller points out that not all parts are matching, and that the rifle has not been sporterized. That second note matters to collectors. A rifle that keeps its military stock and fittings holds its value better than one that has been cut down or modified.
The vz. 24 uses a Mauser 98 style action, which is known for strong controlled-round feeding and a long extractor. It is a very good bolt action for the money. The seller notes a polished stainless finish, so look at the photos to see how the metal presents.
Before you shoot it, check the bore, the bolt lockup, and the headspace. Old surplus Mausers deserve a quick checkup. Use ammunition made for 8mm Mauser at standard pressures. The rifle is sold as described, in used condition. It ships to your FFL dealer for the background check.
