Honest descriptions help buyers, and this one is blunt. The seller says there are not many markings on this Mauser bolt-action rifle and that the details in the description are mostly a guess. The only marking is S 2023. It is used, chambered in 7x57mm Mauser, with a 22.5 inch barrel and a brown finish.

The notes say the stock is original but in rough shape, with many scratches, dents, dings and cracks. There is rust on the magazine cover under the rifle. The action and bolt need inspection, since condition notes are brief.

That makes this a project rifle. A buyer might use the action for a custom build, repair the stock, or just enjoy a rough old Mauser as a wall piece. The price is modest, which fits.

The 7x57 is a soft-recoiling, accurate cartridge with a long record on deer. If the bore is good and the headspace is right, an old Mauser like this can be a fine hunting rifle after some work.

It is sold as described, with all faults. It ships to a licensed dealer you choose, and the background check takes place there.
