Markings tell most of the story on this Kar98. The seller lists a Mauser Oberndorf rifle with a byf41 code for 1941, a WaA655 inspection mark, and a capture mark. It is a bolt action in 8mm Mauser with a 24 inch barrel and a five round capacity.
Overall condition is called very good, with excellent mechanical function, relatively low external wear, and a clean bore. The rifle also features some matching parts. A collector should read the photos closely to see which numbers match and which do not, since that decides how the rifle is valued.
The Kar98k was the standard German infantry rifle, and Oberndorf was the company's main factory. Original examples with capture marks have a lot of appeal. At roughly three thousand dollars, expect a rifle for a collector who knows what to look for, not a casual shooter.
Used and sold as described. Have an FFL dealer lined up before you check out; the rifle goes to them, and the background check is run when you collect it. Buy it for the job you have in mind, and keep a cleaning kit and a few boxes of ammunition ready for the first outing.
