Savanna is the name Mauser gives this M18 in a black and tan finish, and this one has a threaded barrel. It is a new bolt-action rifle in .30-06 Springfield.

The M18 is a modern, affordable hunting rifle. It was designed to be a dependable field gun at a fair price, and it uses a strong, simple action with a synthetic stock. The Savanna color scheme adds a bit of style, but the point of the rifle is that it works. Photos tell most of the story on a rifle like this, so look closely at the wood, the bluing and the markings before you decide.

A threaded barrel lets an owner add a muzzle device such as a brake or a thread protector, subject to the rules in the owner's state. The .30-06 cartridge is a good choice for a rifle used on deer, elk and hogs. Recoil is moderate, and the choice of factory loads is wide.

Mount a good scope, zero it at 100 yards and take it to the woods. Keep the bore clean and the action oiled.

The rifle ships to a licensed dealer you choose, and the background check is completed there.
