The seller is direct about this one: a used German-style Mauser in 8mm with a 30 inch barrel, built from parts, so the numbers do not match. That is why it is priced to sell. It has a black and wood finish and a four round magazine.

A parts-built rifle is a different thing from a matching original. It will not carry the same collector value, but it can still be a sound shooter, and the Mauser 98 action is among the strongest in military history. If you want a rifle to take to the range or a base for a sporting project, mismatched numbers cost you nothing in function.

The long barrel gives this rifle a lot of reach and a long sight radius, which helps accuracy with the right ammunition. Take care to learn the exact bore size before you buy ammunition, since 8mm Mauser loads vary between the old and the modern bullet diameters.

Check headspace and condition when you receive it. The rifle is sold as described. It ships to a licensed dealer of your choice, and the background check is completed there.
