LEE-ENFIELD No.4 MK1

Ten rounds in the magazine and a 24 inch barrel make this No.4 Mk1 the kind of Lee-Enfield that was issued to a whole army. The seller lists it as a 1942 rifle, chambered in .303 British, in used condition. The No. 4 replaced the older SMLE as the main British service rifle and kept the fast bolt that made the family famous.

That bolt is the reason people still seek these out. It cycles on the same smooth stroke every time, and the box magazine feeds the rimmed .303 round without fuss. The heavier barrel of the No.4 also tends to group better than the earlier rifle did.

For a modern owner the rifle is a good project for a first military surplus buy. Look for matching numbers on the bolt and receiver, check the bore with a light, and compare the stock for cracks near the action. The wood takes the hardest wear on a rifle like this.

It is sold as described. Your order ships to a licensed dealer you choose, and the background check is done at pickup.
