KOISHIKAWA ARSENAL Siamese Type 46/66 Mauser

A Thai Mauser built in Tokyo is not something you see every week. The seller describes a Siamese Type 46/66 made by Koishikawa Arsenal for Thailand, with the Chakram wheel crest still intact and the four cannonball arsenal stamp.

It is a bolt action with a 30 inch barrel and a five round capacity, in 8x52mmR Siamese. The Type 66 markings generally point to an upgrade for the improved spitzer loading in the 1920s. The seller says the caliber appears original or upgraded but has not been chamber-cast, so verify it yourself.

That caution is worth heeding. A buyer should have a gunsmith confirm the chambering before shooting, and should read the markings in the photos. The rifle is a clear piece of Asian military history for a Mauser collector.

Because this is a pre-owned rifle, it is sold as described. Compare the photos with the notes, ask if anything is unclear, and then have it sent to your local FFL dealer, who completes the paperwork and background check. Buy it for the job you have in mind, and keep a cleaning kit and a few boxes of ammunition ready for the first outing.
