Few military rifles carry a stranger story than the Japanese Type I. Japan bought the Italian Carcano design during the Second World War and had it chambered for its own 6.5mm cartridge. This one is listed as a Type I in 6.5x52, a bolt action with a 26 inch barrel and a three round capacity.
The seller lists serial number L858 and describes the rifle as used. Italian Carcanos from this period show up with mixed parts and mismatched serials, so a collector should read every marking, look at the receiver ring, and check the bore with a light before judging it.
Ammunition is the practical question. Modern 6.5x52 is not stocked on every shelf, so buyers usually handload or buy from specialty suppliers. As a display piece, a collector rifle, or a talking point beside a Type 38 Arisaka, it has real appeal.
Because this is a pre-owned rifle, it is sold as described. Compare the photos with the notes, ask if anything is unclear, and then have it sent to your local FFL dealer, who completes the paperwork and background check.
