JAPANESE MILITARY ARISAKA

Imperial marks still show on this Arisaka, and the seller says so plainly. A faintly visible ground chrysanthemum crest, called the mum, remains on the receiver ring. That mark was normally removed from rifles surrendered after the war. The rifle is a bolt action with a 26 inch barrel, a blued finish, and a five round capacity.

The seller describes a Type 38 pattern rifle, possibly a school or training variant, with serial number 889502. The caliber is listed as unknown and the rifle is sold as is. Handling wear, age patina, scratches, and storage marks are mentioned, though the wood stock is described as solid.

Because the chambering is unknown, a gunsmith should confirm it before any ammunition is fired. As a collector piece, the crest matters. Examine the receiver markings and bolt in the photos, and decide whether this is a project or a shelf rifle.

Condition is exactly as described and pictured. The rifle is sold as described and ships only to a licensed FFL dealer you choose, where the background check is completed.
