With its short barrel and bayonet at the muzzle, this Izhmash SKS looks like a carbine that stepped out of a parade. The Simonov design was a Soviet stopgap before the AK, a gas-operated semi-automatic chambered in 7.62x39mm. This one has a 16 inch barrel and a black and wood finish.
It has general issue sling mounts and a bayonet on the front end, both traits of the original pattern. The capacity is shown as 30+1 or 20+1, so the rifle can run with detachable magazines in the sizes listed. Check which magazine works with the rifle before you plan any range day.
Look closely at the rear of the stock, the gas piston, and the bolt carrier for pitting or wear. SKS rifles are hard to wear out, but they pick up rust easily when stored in a damp place. Ammunition is common and affordable, which makes this a rifle people actually shoot.
Condition is as stated in the description, and the rifle is sold as described. It ships to your chosen FFL dealer, where the transfer and background check take place.
