INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER M1 Garand

Farm equipment maker International Harvester built Garands for the army in the 1950s, and this one has the marks to show it. The seller lists an original IHC cartouched stock marked 2914 with dings, gouges and scratches, a khaki sling that looks original and an IHC front sight. The windage knob is marked DRC IHC and the operating rod carries D6535382 IHC. The rifle is not import marked.

It was arsenal inspected at Letterkenny and stamped LEAD 1-65. Those marks record a rebuild stage, and they show the rifle stayed in American hands. It is used, a semi-automatic rifle in .30-06 Springfield, with a 24 inch barrel, an eight round clip capacity and a Parkerized finish. Many owners shoot such a rifle a few times a year and enjoy it more for being used than for sitting in a case.

IHC Garands are a favorite of collectors because the company made fewer than the big arsenals did. An unmarked-for-import rifle is a bonus. A khaki sling that looks original adds to the package.

It is sold as described. It ships to a licensed dealer you choose, and the background check is done there.
