Inland Manufacturing made M1 Carbines for the Army in the Second World War, and the company name returned in a modern form. This is a new Inland M1 Carbine in .30 Carbine with an 18-inch barrel, a 15-round magazine, and a wood stock.

The 18-inch barrel is longer than on the Scout and Jungle versions, and it gives a little more sight radius. The rifle keeps the original lines, including the wood stock and the military-style sights. It is a modern production rifle that follows the old design, so it has fresh parts and a clean finish.

Shooters like the carbine because it is light, quick to bring up, and gentle on the shoulder. It works for informal target shooting, for small game, and for pest control at short range. A newcomer can pick it up and learn the basics without fighting recoil.

When it arrives, inspect the stock fit and the finish. Check the magazine and the sights. Shoot a few boxes of standard ammunition to break it in and see how it groups. Like all new firearms, it ships to your local FFL dealer, where the background check is completed before you take possession.
