Short notes can say a lot. The seller of this Argentine Mauser writes only that all numbers match, and adds the word nice. The rifle is the Industria Argentina Mauser M1909, a bolt action in 8mm with a 30-inch barrel and a black matte finish. It carries a three-round capacity.

The Argentine 1909 is one of the better Mauser patterns, with fine machining and a smooth action. This example was made in Argentina, which sets it apart from rifles made in Germany for the Argentine army. Matching numbers are valuable on any military rifle, since they show the parts stayed together.

The original Argentine 1909 used the 7.65x53mm round, so look at the barrel markings and the photos, and ask the seller what the rifle is chambered in before you buy ammunition. That small check can save you from buying the wrong cartridge.

When it arrives, look at the bore, bolt, and stock. Compare the numbers on the receiver, bolt, and barrel. A light coat of oil keeps the metal in good shape. It is sold as described, in used condition. The rifle ships to your local FFL dealer, where the background check is completed.
