Fabrique Nationale of Belgium produced Mauser rifles for several countries, and this one was made for Venezuela. It is chambered in 7x57mm Mauser, the cartridge that has taken deer and larger game for over a century. The barrel is 27 inches, and the magazine holds four rounds per the maker.

The seller says it is in very good condition and comes as you see it in the photos. One point needs to be flagged: the handguard has been replaced. The serial numbers match, though, which keeps the rifle on the right side of collectability. A new handguard is a small change compared with a mixed set of numbers.

The 7x57 is a good round for the woods and for light recoil. A rifle in this chambering is pleasant to shoot, and the long barrel reduces muzzle blast. The Mauser action gives you controlled-round feed and a sturdy bolt, and the rifle is a joy for someone who likes to work with classic designs.

Check the receiver markings and the Venezuelan crest in the photos. Look at the bore and the stock. If you plan to hunt with it, mount a receiver sight or a scout scope. It is sold as described, in used condition. The rifle ships to your local FFL dealer, where the background check is completed.
