A Lee-Enfield is a rifle that can be rebuilt with plain tools, and this pre-owned example offers a good chance to do that. It is a bolt action chambered in .303 British with a 24-inch barrel and a black finish over a wood stock. The seller notes that the magazine is missing.

A missing magazine is the main thing to plan for. Enfield magazines are widely available, and a replacement usually costs less than the price difference between a complete rifle and this one. Check the photos, and confirm that the magazine well is intact and free of damage before you order a part.

A standard Lee-Enfield magazine holds ten, so ask which magazine arrives with it. The Enfield action has a smooth bolt, a short throw, and a rear locking design that helped British troops shoot quickly. It is a pleasant rifle to shoot, and the ammunition is easy to find. Look over the receiver markings to determine the model and date.

When it arrives, inspect the bore and the bolt, and check the stock for cracks. It is sold as described, in used condition. The rifle ships to your FFL dealer for the background check.
