ENFIELD MK1 NO.4

The Enfield No. 4 Mk I replaced the older SMLE in British and Commonwealth service and went on to be one of the best-liked bolt actions of its era. It uses a rear aperture sight, a rear-locking bolt, and a 10-round magazine. Shooters call the action smooth and quick, and the sights are simple to use.

This used example is chambered in .303 British and carries a blued finish. The seller rates it as good condition and gives the serial number as AZ18735. The barrel is 21.5 inches and the rifle weighs 6.2 pounds. The aperture sight is a notable feature, and it helps you shoot accurately at range.

The seller describes the Mk I as a collector piece that is also fun to shoot. That is a fair summary. The ammunition is still easy to find, and the rifle is not too heavy for a long day.

When it arrives, look at the bore with a bright light, run the bolt a few times, and check the stock for cracks near the wrist. Check the headspace if you plan to shoot it. It is sold as described, in used condition. The rifle ships to your local FFL dealer for the background check.
