ENFIELD 1876 Enfield

A big black-powder-era cartridge made the Martini-Henry famous, and this 1876 Enfield uses it. The rifle is a single shot chambered in .577/450 Martini-Henry, with a long 33 inch barrel, a stainless and wood finish, and a one round capacity.

The seller notes it as a foreign-manufactured rifle. The Martini action drops the breechblock with a lever, a quick and positive design that served British forces in many colonial campaigns. It handles like a long, heavy trapdoor, and recoil is a push rather than a snap.

Brass and bullets for the .577/450 are available from specialty makers, but the cartridge is not stocked at a typical store. Look at the bore, the extractor, and the lever spring. A collector who likes Zulu-era history will find plenty to enjoy here.

Condition is as stated in the description, and the rifle is sold as described. It ships to your chosen FFL dealer, where the transfer and background check take place. Give the photos a slow look at full size; they show finish and wear better than any paragraph can. Buy it for the job you have in mind, and keep a cleaning kit and a few boxes of ammunition ready for the first outing.
