CARL GUSTAF Model 96 Swedish Mauser

Few military rifles have a better name for accuracy than the Swedish M96. This original rifle was made in 1908 at Carl Gustafs Stads Gevarsfaktori, and it is chambered in the 6.5x55 Swedish cartridge. It has a 29-inch barrel, a five-round magazine, and a black finish with a wood stock.

The seller describes an early-production example that retains its original military configuration and Scandinavian craftsmanship. The receiver date of 1908 places it in the pre-war era, which collectors prefer. The rifle shows honest wear after a century of service and storage, with handling marks and aged patina on the stock. The metal presents well. The bolt cycles smoothly, and the removable hood on the front sight is included.

The 6.5x55 cartridge is mild in recoil and accurate at long range. Many hunters take moose in Scandinavia with it, and in the United States it is a good deer round. Ammunition is readily available, which makes the M96 a practical shooter as well as a collector piece.

Check the bore and the headspace when it arrives. Look at the sights and the stock for cracks. It is sold as described, in used condition. The rifle ships to your local FFL dealer, where the background check is completed.
