Made in Sweden in 1899, this Carl Gustafs Stad M96 is a rifle with more than a century behind it. It is chambered in 6.5x55mm Swedish, a bolt action with a 24.5 inch barrel, a four round capacity, and a brown finish.

The seller is clear about the rifle's history. It does not have its original stock, but the stock it has is in good shape with minimal scratches. The chamber, bolt, and magazine have different serial numbers, and the receiver was drilled and tapped for a DeerField optic, with a hole through the serial number.

That drilling is the main point for a collector, and the photos show it. As a shooter, the M96 is smooth and accurate, and the barrel has a couple of spots of light pitting. A fair pick for a hunter.

The rifle is offered as described and as pictured. Delivery goes to the FFL dealer you name, and you finish the background check with that dealer before taking it home. Check local transfer and ownership rules in your state before you place the order.
