Lion and Sun crest on the receiver ring, Persian script along the receiver: those are the marks of this Persian Model 98/29 Mauser. The seller says it was built by Brno in Czechoslovakia for Iran in the late 1920s to 1930s, serial number P4835. It is used, in 7.92x57mm, with a 29.5 inch barrel and a five round magazine. The finish is wood with blued steel.

Brno made Mauser rifles for many nations, and the Persian contract is one of the most sought after by collectors. The Lion and Sun crest is the official Iranian acceptance mark. Persian numerals and script on the rifle give it character you will not find on a German rifle.

The long barrel gives it great reach, and the action is a strong 98-type. Because it is a collector's piece, handle it with care and keep it dry. If you plan to shoot, check the bore and the headspace first and use ammunition that matches the bullet diameter.

It is sold as described. It ships to a licensed dealer you choose, and the background check is done there.
