ARISAKA TYPE 99

The Type 99 was Japan's answer to its own lighter, hotter-loaded rifle needs. This example is an authentic bolt-action rifle used by Imperial Japanese forces in World War II, chambered in 7.7x58mm Arisaka. It has a 25.5 inch barrel, a five round internal magazine and a blue steel finish.

The seller says it shows visible battlefield wear. That is a plain statement, and it means a rifle with marks of its service rather than a polished example. Collectors who value originality often prefer that kind of honesty to a rifle that has been refinished. Ask your dealer to look the rifle over at pickup; a second pair of eyes catches small things early.

The Type 99 is a Mauser-style bolt action with a strong receiver. It generally has a folding monopod or an anti-aircraft sight on some models. Check your rifle for those features and for the condition of the chrysanthemum mark.

For shooting, the 7.7mm round is available from a few specialist makers, so check supply before you plan range days.

It is sold as described. It ships to a licensed dealer you choose, and the background check takes place there.
