Short and folding-bayoneted, the Type 44 Arisaka is a favorite of collectors who like cavalry carbines. This one is a bolt action in 6.5x50mm Arisaka with a 20 inch barrel. The seller gives only a short description, simply Type 44 Arisaka.

Without more notes, the photographs are the main guide. Check for the folding bayonet, the markings on the receiver, and the condition of the bolt and stock. The Type 44 shares the strong action of the Type 38 but in a handier size.

The 6.5mm Arisaka cartridge has mild recoil, so the carbine is easy to shoot. Ammunition is sold by specialty makers, and handloading is common. A good fit for a collector who wants a Japanese carbine without a large investment.

Condition is as stated in the description, and the rifle is sold as described. It ships to your chosen FFL dealer, where the transfer and background check take place. Buy it for the job you have in mind, and keep a cleaning kit and a few boxes of ammunition ready for the first outing. Check local transfer and ownership rules in your state before you place the order.
