ARISAKA Type 38 w/Chrysanthemum Kokura Arsenal Series 21 Duffel Cut

Wartime wear and a duffel cut tell the story of this Type 38 Arisaka. The seller describes a rifle with the chrysanthemum on the receiver and the Kokura Arsenal marking, series 21, in 6.5x50mm Arisaka. The stock was cut down, probably to fit in a duffel bag for a bringback after World War II. The barrel is 19 inches, and the magazine holds five rounds.

The notes say the bore appears excellent, the action functions without issue and the rifle shows wear consistent with wartime use. That is what a collector wants to know before spending money. The chrysanthemum, a mark of the Imperial service, is partly ground off on many surrendered rifles, so an intact one is of interest. Ammunition choice matters more than most buyers expect, so try two or three loads and keep the one that groups best.

A duffel cut rifle is a conversation starter. It shows what happened to these guns at the end of the war, and it handles like a short carbine.

Study the photos and the markings, then decide. It is sold as described, and ships to a licensed dealer of your choice. The background check is completed there.
